Ideal for families or a group of friends, Red Onion is located at 7 Arlberg Street in the heart of the village opposite Attunga Lodge. Ski hire and a selection of restaurants are close by, with door-to-door skiing or free village shuttle to Falls Creek’s 10 major lift systems as well as easy access from the front door to the most scenic cross country skiing trails in Australia.
Children are very welcome, and have the choice of learning to ski in front of Red Onion while you have a sip on the overlooking balcony, or taking the shuttle to the ‘kinderski’ and ‘junior’ supervised learn-to-ski programs conducted by the Falls Creek Snowsports School.
Built in 1960 by the Australian Alpine Club, the building has been fully restored and decorated in an Austrian style and furnished with a number of antique Austrian furniture pieces - the dining table is over 200 years old! This unique alpine chalet is one of the few remaining private alpine lodges in the Australian snowfields, and is now the only one available to rent in Falls Creek.
